With three-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle and fitted with spring bayonet above, octagonal breech becoming polygonal and engraved 'London' in script along the top flat, engraved tang, signed border engraved flat bevelled lock (cock fractured) decorated with foliage on the stepped tail, and with safety-catch, semi-rainproof pan and roller, highly figured full stock with chequered grip, engraved steel mounts comprising butt-plate and trigger-guard, the latter with pineapple finial, turned ramrod-pipes, and brass-tipped ramrod, probably original, with iron worm (some surface rust and light pitting overall), Birmingham proof marks
