With blued barrels each cut with four deep grooves, leaf-sighted to 300 yards, and with blued folding adjustable long-range sight to 2000 yards, foliate engraved case-hardened breeches, long slender tang, back-action locks and hammers, the last stamped 'Patent' on the inside, figured half-stock (butt with minor bruising, toe of butt with small chip) with chequered grip and fore-end, the right hand lock cavity stamped with stockmaker's name 'J. Mathews', foliate engraved steel mounts comprising butt-plate and trigger-guard, the latter with chequered spur, foliate engraved hinged circular patch-box cover decorated with a lion in a landscape, blued barrel band stamped 'Patent' on one side, sling loops, original steel ramrod, and much original finish, Birmingham proof marks
