A 32-Bore Percussion Sporting Rifle
Indistinctly Signed, No. 314, Mid-19th Century

With rebrowned twist octagonal sighted barrel rifled with nine grooves and stamped 'Geo. Scott Hawke' beneath the breech, engraved tang grooved for sighting, border engraved flat lock (hammer loose, retaining screw replaced) sparsely engraved with foliage and with faint traces of signature, figured half-stock (some bruising) with chequered grip and mounted with later B.S.A. folding adjustable Vernier target sight behind the barrel tang, foliate engraved steel mounts, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, dark horn fore-end cap, and brass-mounted ramrod (steel parts worn and pitted), Birmingham proof marks
