A Colt 1851 Model Navy Percussion Revolver
No. 38440/9 For 1855

With blued octagonal sighted barrel with London address, cylinder with roll engraved naval engagement scene, case-hardened frame with double stamped 'Colts Patent' on one side, case-hardened rammer, trigger-guard and back-strap with traces of original blueing, varnished figured rounded grips (one with minor chip, the other worn on the lower edge), and retaining much of its original finish (some loss of finish in places), London proof marks
19 cm. barrel
