A Spanish 11-Bore Silver-Mounted Miquelet-Lock Sporting Gun

With russet two-stage barrel slightly swamped at the muzzle, chiselled and turned at the girdle and retained by a silver spring-catch pierced and engraved with foliage terminating in a monster's head, gold spider fore-sight between inlaid gold foliage, octagonal breech inscribed in gold 'En Cadiz Año 1(.)13' (the second numeral defaced) between gold foliage, the initials 'H' in gold beyond, and struck at the rear with two gold-lined punzónes of Benito Leal below four gold-lined stylised fleur-de-lys marks and a gold-lined cross, gold-inlaid foliage on either side, gold line, gold-lined touch-hole, case-hardened tang incorporating a back-sight and engraved with scrolling foliage, signed case-hardened border engraved lock sparsely decorated with foliage, figured half-stock (fore-end split and repaired, toe of butt chipped) with chequered grip and carved with an acorn behind the trigger-guard tang, mounts comprising silver side-nail plates en suite with the barrel band spring-catch, steel butt-plate engraved with foliage on the heel tang, silver trigger-guard with pierced and engraved foliate finial and gold-lined punzón of Benito Leal within engraved foliage on the bow, fore-end band with line borders, faceted foliate engraved silver ramrod-pipe, and later ramrod
