With straight fullered blade (some rust patination overall) double-edged towards the point and cut with a narrow fuller along the back for most of its length on each side, the forte etched on each side with the motto 'Pro Deo fide et Patria' within an oval between panels of foliage, a hound pursuing a boar in a landscape beyond on one side, and a stag on the other, hilt comprising fluted downbent shell-guard with integral flat scrolled quillons (one with minor chip), grip-scales of tapering ovoidal section secured by three transverse iron pins, the outer one diagonally fluted, and plain pommel-cap
