Dated 1853

With plain barrel stamped with indistinct maker's or retailer's name at the breech and retained by a pierced brass muzzle band also forming the fore-sight, plain tang and dated flat bevelled lock, the latter with crowned double-headed eagle stamp on the tail, figured full stock stamped 'S' opposite the lock, regulation brass mounts including rounded butt-cap with iron lanyard ring, single brass ramrod-pipe, and iron ramrod, probably original, Liège proof
