The Second By Jeffery's, Cutler To His Majesty, Strand, All 18th Century Or Later
The first slightly curved, fullered, double-edged towards the point and bright over half its length, the forte etched and gilt with a crowned lion holding a flag, an Irish harp against foliage, and a martial trophy against a richly blued ground on one side, and on the other with a martial trophy, a harp framed by rocailles, an angel above, and foliage, tapering tang struck with a mark on one side, and in exceptional condition, in original fleece-lined vellum-covered scabbard; the second comprising locket chased with a trophy of arms and rocailles on one side, and signed on the other, shaped suspension mount, and two rings for suspension; the third of iron, with pierced and engraved edges, hook with button faced in brass, and belt-loop; the last comprising a vellum-covered small-sword scabbard (damaged, chape missing) with engraved locket and suspension ring, and five various sword and hanger scabbards (damaged and incomplete) with silver and white-metal mounts (9)
