An Upper Vambrace For The Right Arm
Early 17th Century, Probably Flemish

Of russet steel, comprising upper cannons and bluntly-pointed bracelet couter, the former of six articulated plates held together by rivets with domed brass heads, the latter of characteristic heart-shape and with a roundel of domed brass-headed rivets on the outside and on the elbow, the edges throughout bordered by double incised lines and variously roped or cusped, the latter with incised concentric circles on each cusp, pivoting locking catch, and brass dome-headed rivets throughout (some pitting overall)
