The first with broad fullered double-edged blade, iron hilt comprising solid guard with slender knuckle-guard connected to two side-bars by double bars and originally screwed to the pommel, a further scrolled diagonal to the rear on each side (one incomplete) joining the wrist-guard, and roughly chiselled globular pommel (grip missing); the second with slender double-edged blade with central fuller on each side at the forte, iron hilt comprising symmetrical shell-guard, each side enclosing a convex plate (one bent and partly loose) pierced with small holes, downcurved arms, quillon (the other missing) with swelling terminal, fluted ovoidal pommel, and grip with later binding (both in poor pitted condition) (2)
