A Left-Hand Dagger And Two Cup-Hilt Rapiers In Spanish Late 17th Century Style
19th Century And Later

The first with tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, hilt comprising downbent quillons with swelling tips, rounded upbent shell-guard decorated with lines of graduated circles between converging lines and within a border of foliage, the top linked to the pommel by an integral tapering bar, fluted ovoidal pommel, and wooden grip between turned ferrules; the second with 17th century slender tapering blade of flattened hexagonal section with central fuller on each side of the forte stamped with indistinct letters, ricasso stamped 'Caino' on each side, hilt comprising cup-guard with slender rounded rim and riveted quartrefoil beneath, flat arms, swelling pointed quillons, knuckle-guard scrolled at the top, swelling pommel with prominent button, and grip bound with copper wire; the last with slender tapering 18th century small-sword blade, hilt comprising cup-guard with padded velvet liner, straight quillons and knuckle-guard all with button terminals, compressed rounded pommel, and grip bound with twisted iron wire (3)
