With fullered single-edged blade engraved on one side at the forte with crowned flaming grenade above conjoined 'LG2' and crossed sprigs of laurel and palm above a proof star, hilt of regulation form comprising half-basket guard cast with a flaming grenade and scrollwork beneath three scrolled side-bars swept-up to meet the knuckle-guard, pommel-cap cast with a winged grenade above thunder-bolts, and simulated wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its scabbard with chape and reeded suspension mounts, the latter each carrying a suspension ring, and retaining most of its original gilding
