An Indo-Persian Char Aina And Matching Bazu Bands
Late 19th Century Or Later

The first comprising four square steel plates each of shallow convex form hinged together and with applied steel borders, each etched with a large quartrefoil-shaped cartouche centred on four circular panels, all etched with Qur'anic inscriptions including part of the Declaration of Faith; the second each of steel, shaped to the fore-arm and with hinged wrist-plate secured by a staple, etched overall with panels enclosing Qur'anic inscriptions, the main edges reinforced with steel plates etched with dots (some pitting overall, the interior with surface rust) (3)
