An Unusual Indian Kard

With distinctly watered single-edged blade with rounded reinforced tip, the back of the blade damascened with two colour gold foliage within gold lines, the forte on each side damascened with scrolling foliage in two colour gold centred on a cartouche containing Arabic calligraphy, rounded steel hilt decorated en suite and inhabited by four tigers on each side, and hinged domed damascened pommel-cap with gilt suspension swivel formed as a pierced trefoil and sprung button-catch, opening to reveal a further smaller kard en suite, the threaded pommel-cap opening to reveal a slender kard en suite, its threaded pommel-cap unscrewing to reveal a small single-edged blade, in its wooden scabbard covered in purple silk decorated with gilt brocade roundels overall
26.5 cm., 22 cm., 16.5 cm. and 5.4 cm. blades
