A Turkish Kard, And An Indian Dagger
The First 19th Century, The Second Partly 18th/19th Century

The first with single-edged blade (some pitting) decorated with gold- and silver-damascening on one side of the forte, hilt with brown hardstone grip of two circular sections inlaid with crude gold foliage set with a minute cabochon ruby, and brass stylised bird's head pommel, in its wooden scabbard covered in green velvet (worn); the second with curved blade damascened in silver along each side with a trellised design enclosing panels of calligraphy, earlier tulwar hilt of characteristic form with knuckle-guard, now blued and with gold-damascened foliate border (2)
