With earlier curved finely watered single-edged Persian blade (repaired at the forte), the forte on one side with gold-inlaid cartouche containing Arabic inscriptions, hilt comprising white-metal quillon-block with shaped langets and downscrolled quillons, white-metal grip-strap, and rhinoceros horn grips, the rounded pommel pierced for a sword-knot, in its wooden scabbard recovered in black leather with deep white-metal locket and chape each with embossed and chased foliate borders, the former with a star and crescent on one side, white-metal suspension mounts chased en suite, and two rings for suspension
