With curved fullered blade adapted from a French officer's sword and double-edged at the point (minor pitting), the forte on each side etched and gilt with martial trophies and panels of foliage against faint traces of the original blued ground, one side with a gilt panel with etched initials 'A.K.' in an oval, waisted shagreen-covered hilt with a strap around the outer edges engraved with a repeated design of ovals, and basal mount embossed and chased with symmetrical foliage against a punched ground, in its wooden scabbard covered in green-stained rayskin with deep locket and chape en suite with the hilt and inhabited by gilt birds and animals, the locket with a loop for suspension on one side
