An Indian Spear, And A South East Asian Spear
Both 19th Century

The first with fullered sharply tapering point of stiff triangular section with tapering socket of octagonal section between two slightly rounded collars, the latter each decorated with inlaid gold florets, the lower collar above three bands of gold and silver beadwork, on wooden staff of circular section with basal spike en suite with the point and with deeply fluted spherical feature inlaid in gold with waved chevroned designs; the second with pattern-welded tapering double-edged blade of flattened ovoidal section, turned and moulded at the base, and retaining its rattan-bound two-piece wooden cover, on original hardwood staff of circular section with white-metal top mount and pointed shoe, the former decorated with embossed bands of foliage (2)
