With swamped octagonal barrel longitudinally fluted throughout its length, and with a baluster ring at the muzzle and a stepped ramp at the rear of the breech, long bright tang struck with a mark, 'LM' between pellets, with a star beneath, all within an oval (apparently unrecorded), bright bevelled lock engraved with flower-buds and foliage and with shaped tail, the flat cock engraved with foliage and flower-heads, walnut full stock (an early replacement) with sharply-angled butt of swelling octagonal section (minor worm holes, small early inset repair) inlaid opposite the lock and around the trigger with small pierced and engraved steel panels, single ramrod-guide en suite, engraved pommel cut with radiating flutes and retained by a central screw, engraved trigger-guard of waved outline, dolphin-shaped trigger, and steel-tipped ramrod
