Second Quarter Of The 17th Century, Probably German
With long slender tapering blade of flattened hexagonal section with central full length fuller along each side, blackened steel hilt of fluted bars of stiff diamond section comprising downcurved rear quillon terminating in an openwork knotted finial, openwork quillon-block, side-loop swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, the side-loop and knuckle-guard each interrupted by a pair of openwork knots matching the quillon-tip, openwork pommel of similar design with large button, and wooden grip bound with twisted steel wire between steel Turk's heads
