A white jade 'tree shrew and grapevine' carving

18th/19th century
Finely carved as a tree shrew, carved with its head turned back towards the thick long tail delicately incised with fur, grasping with his clawed feet a cluster of grapes, standing atop a a large veined leaf borne on a gnarled stem, the stone of opaque white tone with a small russet inclusion, wood stand.
5.5cm (2⅛in) across (2).
