月下鴛鴦図 岸竹堂筆 一幅 絹本着色 19世紀
Born as the son of a retainer of the daimyo of Hikone, he moved to Kyoto, and studied first under Kano Eigaku (1790-1867), then with Kishi Renzan (1804-1859), who adopted him as his son. His style comes close to the Shijo manner, but with modern touches and considerable traces of Western realism.
