Of hexagonal section, decorated in enamels and gilt, both vases with six long vertical panels, each enclosing a different scene depicting figures engaged in various activities associated with the twelve months of the year; the month and activity or festival inscribed in a square cartouche on each panel, all reserved on a ground of mille-fleurs, both vases signed Shozan with seal Makoto ga. Both vases 20.3cm (8in) high. (2).
