The body of exaggerated ovoid form, with flared foot and square neck, the upper section decorated with four lobed panels, each depicting a different scene including a coastline view, birds perched on stems of bamboo, butterflies hovering above peony and children indoors playing karuta and go, painting and writing; all reserved on a ground of simulated cloth embellished with mille-fleurs and cherry blossoms; the upper shoulder with manji diaper, the foot and lower section decorated with butterflies above stems of violets, signed on a gilt seal Yabu Meizan. 11.5cm (4½in) high.
