The tall slender body delicately painted with panels enclosing different seasonal scenes including one of families on the banks of a river enjoying the hanami season, another of a pair of owls perched on maple branches and women playing backgammon in an interior, the shoulder with floral motifs on a swirling brocade, the foot with lappets enclosing vegetables, Bugaku instruments, butterflies and mille-fleurs above a band of geometric motifs, signed Dai Nippon Kyoto Ryozan with the Yasuda company trade mark. 26cm (10¼in) high.
