Raised on four cabriole legs, each with a scalloped apron supporting a square, lobed top fitted with a circular copper ash receptacle, the stand decorated in gold hiramakie and inlaid in mother-of-pearl against a black-lacquer ground, the top surface divided into four sections by mother-of-pearl 'lightning bolts' with alternating designs of Chinese bellflowers, wisteria, peonies, ivy and mandarin oranges, the raised border decorated with lozenges containing cherry blossoms, the legs with a continuation of the design on the top surface; with wood storage box. 49cm x 49cm x 19.6cm (19¼in x 19¼in x 7¾in).
