Late 17th/early 18th century
The main body decorated with a distinctive fern-scroll motif in gold hiramakie on a black ground, each side inset with a shaped panel enclosing dense copper-coloured kirikane flakes, the cord runners of silvered metal and decorated with tendrils cast in low relief, unsigned; with silvered-metal pierced ojime and a netsuke in the form of a stylised bird. 6.1cm (2 3/8in) high.
