Of lenticular form, bearing a kinji ground, lacquered in takamakie with the legend of Choryo and Kosekiko (the 'shoe' incident), the faces and hands inlaid with stained ivory and the interior of nashiji, signed Shokasai Tokujo and Shibayama; with ivory netsuke depicting the same subject, signed Nittosai. 8.2cm (3¼in) high.
