18th and 19th century
The first of a large snail attacking a small toad over two large leaves, signed Masatomo, 4.5cm (1¾in); the second carved from walrus tusk, of two playing shishi, one with a loose ball in its mouth, unsigned, 3.8cm (1½in); the third of a shishi with a ball, unsigned, 4.8cm (1 7/8in); the fourth of several fish and crustaceans, the ivory stained and the eyes inlaid, signed Shoichi, 5.4cm (2 1/8in).
