comprising a jug and a bowl, both with designs scratched through a black ground under a turquoise glaze; the jug with inverted pear-shaped body with short handle, with a frieze of vertical bands, the shoulder with cursive inscription, the neck with a band of check motif; the bowl with rounded sides with narrow, flat rim, the sides with a frieze of inscription centred on a roundel divided into quadrants, each with a spray

Provenance: Private US collection. The bowl was acquired from Christie's, South Kensington, 16th October 2006, lot 478. The jug was formerly in the Gluck Collection and acquired from Malter Galleries, Encino, California Auction 80, 7th April 2008, lot 128.
The inscriptions consist of; around the inside of the bowl, 'Glory, and wealth, and good fortune, and contentment, and long life'.
