A monochrome moulded pottery Ewer
Persia, 12th/ 13th Century

with globular body, tapering neck, openwork handle with thumb-rest knop and cup-shaped mouth, the body moulded with a frieze of fantastical fish on a scrolling vine ground, the shoulder with a band of trailing vine, the neck with small, raised bosses, with cobalt-blue stripe and splash all under a turquoise glaze
