A pale green and brown jade Bactrian camel

18th century
The recumbent double-hump camel carved with its head turned back towards its right flank looking at the long-tailed animal at its side, the fur around the humps denoted by a circle of incised lines, the legs tucked underneath, the stone of pale green tone with brown inclusions, wood stand, 8.2cm (3¼in) wide; a green and brown jade carving of a qilin, Ming Dynasty, poised with its bearded head held high and clawed forelegs tucked underneath the chest, the tail flicked over the left haunch, the stone of green tone with brown inclusions, wood stand, 5.1cm (2in) long; and a pale green jade cup, 17th century, the walls carved as overlapping magnolia petals borne on gnarled leafy blossoming branch forming the handle and foot, wood stand, 10.4cm (4⅛in) wide
