A rare pair of carved cinnabar lacquer hat stands

Qianlong/Jiaqing
Each of floral form with the domed parasol support with radiating and overlapping petals, enclosing birds in flight above blossoming flower sprays, centred around a gilt bronze 'shou' medallion finial, the cylindrical stem carved with diaper grounds and a double-lappet raised central section, widening to a hexafoil base carved with lotus scrolls against a diaper ground and raised on six ruyi-form feet.
