Kangxi
The first well enamelled in the centre with a spotted deer frolicking amidst lingzhi fungus below a pine tree and a crane in flight, the rim with six cranes, the undersides with iron-red sprigs, the base with number N=179 I; the second decorated with ducks swimming in a lotus pond and in flight, the rim with the Eight Horses of Muwang.
The first, 22.3cm (8¾in) diam. (2).

The 'deer' dish is incised with the inventory number of the collection formerly belonging to Augustus the Strong, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, mark N=179 I, showing it originally formed part of the contents of the famous 'Japanese Palace' at Dresden.
