A pair of famille verte dishes

Kangxi
With gently curved sides and everted borders, each dish finely enamelled and gilt at the centre with a garden scene enclosing three elegantly dressed dancing ladies being observed by two further ladies standing in an ornate open pavilion, the garden scattered with various potted miniature trees and ornamental rockwork, with two boys playing in the foreground before a fishpond, the border with four leaf-shaped cartouches enclosing scholars' objects and four rounded cartouches enclosing pairs of squirrels and birds, all reserved on alternating trellis-pattern grounds, the underside with scattered floral sprays below the rim and an underglaze blue encircled leaf mark on the base.
