The steep rounded sides rising to a flared rim, the exterior with stalks of bamboo issuing slender, pointed leaves, reserved on a rich coral-red ground, the reign mark in underglaze blue on the base.

The striking design of the bamboo in reserve against a coral ground was used as early as the Yongzheng period.
