Footnotes
Provenance: Manoel de Rezende, by descent to the present owners.
Manoel de Rezende was a Portuguese collector who lived in Macau in the early 1920s and also collected porcelain when travelling in China. Much of his collection was sold at auction in the late 1940s. The photograph of the late collector which is illustrated above comes from a family album, the photograph recorded as being taken in a Macau studio and sent with an inscription to relatives in 1923.
