A large kesi silk fragment

Ming Dynasty
The long fragment depicting at the centre a seated official, flanked by attendants and ministers, surrounded on either side by a battle scene showing military figures mounted on horseback and brandishing weapons, all woven in threads of blue, red, orange and mustard-yellow silk against a gold threads ground, framed and glazed.
Overall 46.9cm x 174.2cm (18½in x 68½in).
