Footnotes
Compare a related cast gilt bronze figure of the Luohan Gopaka, attributed to circa 1400-1500, exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, no. FE.104-1970. The V&A example is seated atop a plinth as the present example would have been and is similar in the modelling as well as the incised decoration.
