The first of compressed globular form supported on three short, tapering feet, the rim with two loop handles, the centre of the interior cast with a dragon medallion and four-character mark Da Ming Xuande, the underside with four-character mark reading 'Nei tan jiao shi' (the Inner Sacrificial Altar), 24.8cm (9¾in) wide; the second of similar form, set to each side with flanged loop handles, the base cast with Xuande six-character mark, pierced wood cover, 19.4cm (7½in) wide.
