A rare and large soapstone figure of an Immortal

Late Ming Dynasty
The sage atop a large striding qilin, wearing long flowing robes incised with shaped panels enclosing lotus sprays, and incised at the rims with cloud scrolls, clasping a long fly whisk in his hand, the qilin with scaly body and saddle cloth incised with gui dragons and lotus sprays, the stone varying from coral red to creamy white, fitted box.
