A mogami do tosei gusoku armour

The sixteen-plate russet iron suji kabuto signed Myochin Ki Muneyoshi and dated Ansei ni-nen ni-gatsu kichi-jitsu (auspicious day in the second month of Ansei 2 [1855]), the signature and date are also on the kote and suneate the menpo with just the signature. Mounted with a five stage gilt tehen kanamono, the russet iron mabisashi with a gilt kuwagata dai and kuwagata and a wood dragon maedate, the leather covered fukigaeshi with a gilt sugi chigai (crossed timbers) mon which also appears on the mune ita, to the rear a black lacquered four lame ko manju jikoro. Russet iron menpo with rings on the cheek for the helmet cord. Russet iron mogami do, the mune ita and waki ita leather covered, black lacquered kusazuri, black lacquered mogami sode, Sendai haidate and shino suneate. The lower plates of the shikoro menpo, sode and kusazuri gilded, laced overall in green sugake odoshi. Together with a green fabric jinbaori decorated with butterflies and a mon. Two armour boxes each contained in cage like frames with hinged pitched lids.
