Comprising two small detachable long-tailed birds, their feathers with details rendered in shakudo and gilt honzogan and eyes inlaid in shakudo, perched on a rocky crag, the front of which is applied with barnacles in silver, with ensuite lacquered wood stand decorated in gold hiramakie with wild grasses on the banks of a stream, both birds signed Mitsuharu saku; with tomobako titled, dated and signed by the artist Taisho nana tsuchinoe-uma no toshi, Koryusai, Mitsuharu koku (Taisho 7 [1918], carved by Koryusai, Mitsuharu) with seal Mitsuharu. 16.5cm x 30cm (6½in x 11¾in) overall height, the lacquered wood stand 41cm x 26½cm (16 1/8in x 10½in).
