Of cylindrical form and raised on a floriform base, the body inset with two lobed panels enclosing pavilions in landscape with boats sailing in the distance, on a ground of elaborate geometric motifs, the cover pierced and in the form of Daruma enveloped in his voluminous robe decorated with kiku-mon, the sides applied with two dragon-form handles, the whole worked in the Komai technique of silver and gold nunomezogan; signed Nihon koku Kyoto ju Komai sei. 10.7cm (4¼in) high.
