Komai style, Meiji Period
Constructed in two storeys raised on an elaborate, rounded rectangular base, the upper section surmounted by a tall stupa bearing a tama from which chains lead down to a typical sloping roof from the four corners of which bells are hung and beneath which are four pillars surrounded by a railed balcony, enclosing a low square plaform, the lower part with two hinged doors enclosing a sliding tray, the whole worked throughout in gold and silver nunomezogan with shaped panels of views of shrines, thatched huts and sailing boats on a lake before Mt. Fuji, reserved on a ground of vine leaves; unsigned; with two wood stands. 54½cm (21½in) high.
