Attributed to the Komai Company of Kyoto, Meiji Period
Of rectangular form and raised on four bracket feet, the pair of hinged doors opening to reveal within six small and long drawers, applied throughout in typical gold nunomezogan, the exterior decorated with panels enclosing famous views of shrines and thatched dwellings and rural landscape in Kyoto, the top and sides with confronted ho-o and assorted fowl, all reserved on a ground of dense scrolling kiku heads; the base stamped with the double-mountain mark, with wood storage box. 14cm x 11cm (5½in x 4 5/16in).
