The body of bulbous, hexagonal form raised on a stepped base with six lappet feet, the neck applied with upswept split slab handles, surmounted by a domed cover bearing a tama-shaped knop, worked in gold nunomezogan with bands of diaper designs, paulownia and vines; each hexagonal face with a different scene of cranes, pheasants, sailing boats and shrines, signed Dai Nippon koku Kyoto ju Komai sei; with storage box. 14cm (5½in) high.
