銅置物 天稚彦 大島如雲 大正時代
According to variant accounts in the Nihongi and Kojiki, Amewahiko, entrusted with a bow and arrow from the heavenly kami was despatched to earth - following the failure of Amenohohi - to pacify the Central Land of Reed Plains and negotiate its transfer to the Heavenly Grandchild. The name Amewakahiko subsequently appears to be widely used as a generic term to male deities who descended from heaven to earth, and are still worshipped at some shikinaisha in Izumo province.
A bronze figure of Gamma Sennin by the artist was sold in these rooms, 12th May 2009, lot 228.
