A pottery okimono group of birds

By Makuzu Kozan, Taisho/Showa Period
Brightly enamelled and gilt, in the form of three sparrows seated on bundles of millet stalks, the adult perched at one end peering down at her offspring, signed with the impressed mark Makuzu within an oval cartouche.
13½cm x 20.2cm (5¼in x 8in).
