Both delicately painted in enamels and gilt, the first in the form of a basket with a scalloped rim, decorated with two kidney-shaped panels enclosing a profusion of minute butterflies and rows of nadeshiko, on a ground of kiku-heads, signed Hosai, 9cm (3½in) high; the second of ovoid form, decorated with a flock of ho-o in flight, signed Tozan, 7.7cm (3in) high. (2).
